Our Story

C  |  L

“What God Aligns, No Moment Is Wasted.”

We met on an ordinary evening at the house — a simple gathering with Nicole and Rodney that God quietly turned into the beginning of something neither of us expected. He arrived last, dropped the dinner he brought in the driveway, and we both ended up laughing at the moment that broke the ice and opened the door to everything that followed.

Later that night, everyone headed to the swim spa. He got in, she didn’t — and his slip in the pool under the water became one of those unforgettable moments that only God could use to soften two hearts and spark something new.

Not long after, he said the words that felt more like prophecy than prediction: “We’re going to be married in six months. God told me.” She smiled and replied, “Well… God didn’t tell me!” But even then, God was already writing the blueprint.

From the start, our conversations flowed effortlessly — science, politics, farming, real estate, cars, AI, technology, music, faith, and everything in between. God allowed us to learn each other’s minds before anything else.

Life tested us early. Her mother became critically ill, and he flew back and forth from Detroit to Arkansas to stand beside her. Later, when his mother became ill too, we walked parallel paths of caregiving and responsibility. God used those seasons to knit our hearts together in a way that felt intentional and sacred.

Out of that time came our morning ritual — scripture and coffee — a rhythm that became the heartbeat of our connection.

Our first road trip to Dallas brought laughter, good food, and the unforgettable Tiffany’s moment: she admired crystal, he quietly discussed rings. It was surreal, funny, and so perfectly us.

Eight months later — after the prayers, the flights, the scriptures, the caregiving, the travels, the summer nights on the deck, the winter snow, the cruises, and that bold declaration — he proposed in Mexico... On her birthday. And the journey that began with “Who is this guy?” became “Forever Fitz.”
